What's My Fitness Routine?
Here is the thing:
Everyone is different.
Sometimes people following other peoples' fitness routines, shocks me...
Do you want to know why?
- People are measuring their BMI: An unreliable measurement to determine obesity. According to my BMI, I’m obese.
- Not one single answer mentions long term adherence.
And probably the number 1 thing you need in order to get results in fitness is adherence.
This circles back to my 2nd line of: “everyone is different.”
I don’t have a fitness routine, and that helps me be to stick to my goals.
You have to find that sweet spot!
Many people say that you need to:
- Wake up at the same time
- Cut out the foods they love.
- Eat the same things every day
- Do the same workout
If you’re OK with monotony, and not eating the foods you love, then go for it.
However, I preach about flexibility and having a healthy relationship with food.
Why create a routine around “fitness,” when you can make fitness fit your life?
That’s exactly what I do.
Why eat the same 5 eggs, and egg whites every day, when you can eat whatever you desire and still achieve your goals?
My diet is flexible.
I eat according to how many calories I need a day. How much protein, fat, and carbohydrates.
Most people fail to say this...
For me, and my clients it’s pretty simple - want to burn fat? Eat less and move more. Want to build muscle? Eat more, lift heavy, and get stronger.
Since they can eat whatever they want (because they know about calories and macronutrients) they stick to this lifestyle forever.
I’ve done this for years, and I have put 30+ pounds of muscle. Yet, my BMI says I’m obese.
I took this picture after nearly a month of eating out, enjoying delicious food and time with family.
Keep in mind, I’m “obese.”
- Figure out how you have to eat to achieve your goal
- Figure out what kind of physical activity you need to do for your goal
- Figure out how to fit this in your life
